In Fall 1970, Spartanburg County integrated its schools. Avis Dawkins was one of the first black students to graduate from the newly integrated Cowpens High School in Spring 1971. This collection consists of Avis Dawkins's high school diploma which is printed on a wooden plaque.

Wilhelmina Dearybury was a long-time resident of Cowpens who was involved in the town's Bicentennial Committee, Mighty Moo Festival, and history museum. This collection consists of photographs, newspaper clippings, church directories, and other documents relating to the history of Cowpens First Baptist Church, Cowpens High School class of 1944, Cowpens Veterans Park, and the town of Cowpens, South Carolina that Wilhelmina Dearybury collected.

This collection consists of newspapers, photographs, yearbooks, and papers related to the history of Cowpens and the extended Shoneke family. The newspapers include the Cowpens High School newspaper, The Breeze, and its later version, The Mighty Moo. The papers include information related to the USS Cowpens and the Cowpens Historic Battlegrounds in addition to family papers. Photographs range from family photographs from the late 1800s to modern photographs showing downtown Cowpens.
