Avis Dawkins High School diploma
In Fall 1970, Spartanburg County integrated its schools. Avis Dawkins was one of the first black students to graduate from the newly integrated Cowpens High School in Spring 1971. This collection consists of Avis Dawkins's high school diploma which is printed on a wooden plaque.

Poster to elect W. Dewey Tullis to Spartanburg County Board of Commissioners, a predecessor of the Spartanburg County Council. Tullis lost the election to Elizabeth Patterson. Tullis, an Upstate educator and community leader, was inducted into the South Carolina Black Hall of Fame and was a recipient of the Order of the Silver Crescent.
