Vollie C. Bailey, Jr., better known as “Vic” Bailey, was born in Travelers Rest in 1926. Bailey was a veteran of the Korean War. Upon returning home from service, he became a manager of a car dealership in Greenville. He opened his first dealership, Vic Bailey Lincoln Mercury, in Spartanburg in 1969. Over time, Bailey’s business expanded to include Ford, Honda, Mazda, and Volkswagen dealerships. Bailey was the married to Rose Lewis Baily and he died in January 2016.
