Poster to elect W. Dewey Tullis to Spartanburg County Board of Commissioners, a predecessor of the Spartanburg County Council. Tullis lost the election to Elizabeth Patterson. Tullis, an Upstate educator and community leader, was inducted into the South Carolina Black Hall of Fame and was a recipient of the Order of the Silver Crescent.

One postcard labeled "pickaninny review of army truck train, Camp Wadsworth, Spartanburg, S. C," depicting four black children watching an army truck pass by. Originally mailed in 1917 to Mrs. Delia Spoor of Mount Vernon, New York. Written content: "Hello! Pretty busy. Have to cut trees and pulls the stumps before we can pitch our tents. Mud is 2 feet deep here. My cold is just the same. Very sore throat and racking cough! Feel pretty good though. Rains. Very busy. Write later. Love, Clyde."
