Herald-Journal negative collection
Primarily negatives, original and copy, from the Herald-Journal newspaper of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Original negatives (1948-1987) consist primarily of places, people, and events in the city of Spartanburg and nearby communities, and interior and exterior views of Herald-Journal buildings. Copy negatives consist primarily of front pages of the Carolina Spartan, Herald, Journal, and Herald-Journal newspapers (1849-1973) with major events in Spartanburg, the United States and the world; also included are copies of other materials, including documents related to the Civil War and the founding of South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind. The collection consists primarily of 4x5 black and white negatives; 35mm strips, color negatives, and color transparencies are also included.
